It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that I have to inform that George William Ives, our Honorary Life President and stalwart supporter of the club passed away this morning, 29th January 2023, at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, with his nieces Jane and Jackie by his side. George was aged 89 years. He had been admitted to hospital on Tuesday 24th January 2023, following a fall at his home where he fractured his hip. George had received a new hip and was on the mend, however, he passed away in his sleep. Our sincere condolences to Judy, Jane, Barry, Jackie and family at this difficult time.

What a wonderful person; who over a 76 year span would do anything for the club – thank you George. I will certainly miss your counsel and advice.  George and Pam were our guests  at the 95th Annual Lunch, on Friday 28th October 2022, at the school.  I know that they both enjoyed sitting at top table.

Sadly George lost Pam on 6th December 2022, with George by her side. Pam was aged 92 years.

George’s funeral will take place at 11.30am, on Tuesday 28th February 2023, at St Francis of Assisi,  Terriers,   100 Amersham Road, High Wycombe, HP 13 5AB.  Followed by his burial in Wycombe Cemetery at 1.30pm and then followed by the wake in the hall next to the church.

Please let me know by 20th February if you will be attending the wake so that Barry Nickless, George’s nephew, has the correct numbers for catering purposes.
